You will receive an e-mail to activate your account.
If you do not receive your activation email after several minutes, check your spam and junk mail folders in case it was filtered incorrectly. Resend your activation email here.
The email may be delayed a few minutes for some email providers.
If the link in your email does not work, try copying and pasting the entire URL into the address bar of your browser.
Your login name for MyEChinese.com is usually your e-mail address.
If you still cannot login, Contact MyEChinese.
If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail from MyEChinese within ten minutes of signing up, check your spam filter. Your e-mail program could have misidentified the confirmation as spam. If you still can't find it, resend your activation email here.
If you received the error message "ERROR! Invalid user ID/Password.", try these steps to log in:
Verify that you spelled your e-mail address and password correctly.
Check your keyboard settings. Are your CapLock and NumLock keys disabled?
Try to clear your browser's cache and cookies in case the wrong email/password combination has been stored in the "Remember Me" cookie.
Allow cookies. To accept this cookie, change the privacy, or cookie, settings for your browser or network to accept all cookies.
Go to the login page and follow the link "Forgot password? " to get help with your password.
A password reset email will be sent to your registered email address. Simply follow the one- time link in the email to log in and reset your password.
If you don't see it in your inbox within an hour, check your spam and junk mail folders in case the email was filtered. Make sure you don't have any email settings, firewall or anti-spam software that might prevent you from receiving the email. If necessary, resend the password reset email again.
Sign in to your account and click My Account tab in the top right of the page. Your account can be edited from the following tabs: Profile, Account, Settings and My Orders. From Profile, you can edit your Nickname, Industry, Chinese Level, Native language, nationality and interests. You can change your password in "Account". You can select your Time zone, subscribe or unsubscribe MyEChinese Weekly and choose to open courses in a new window in "Settings". You can view and pay your orders in "My Orders". Your email address will never be displayed on your public profile.

To cancel a free subscription to MyEChinese Weekly, sign in to your account and then click My Account. Under "Settings" you can uncheck the "Weekly email" to cancel subscription.

MyEChinese is a platform for delivering online courses, interacting with teachers and other learners. This platform is also used by instructors to supplement their in-class courses. MyEChinese is capable of supporting teaching and learning, and group interaction. To take courses on MyEChinese, you'd better have access to a computer with a high speed, broadband or DSL internet connection. Dial-up connections are not recommended, due to the nature of downloading and viewing rich media. The following are the minimum technical requirements for studying on MyEChinese.

If you will be using a computer connected to a LAN (Local Area Network) at your workplace, check with your employer's network administrator to determine whether there is a firewall on the Internet connection. A firewall may limit your ability to submit the type of forms the SLN web site uses. If you are using a computer lab on campus or at a library, the network may have a firewall or a block on users sending information to an external web site. Similar problems have been reported by students using a campus dial-up connection. Check with the campus technical support staff to make sure you have the appropriate Internet access and will be able to submit forms to an external web site.

No. You can log in and get started directly in your browser. You will need Adobe Flash player but over 98% of our visitors already have it (so you probably do, too). However, if your computer needs the Flash player, the site will automatically detect it and help you install it (it’s free).
Yes. Although MyEChinese is web-based, you can log into it on any computer with internet access. Just navigate to s.myechinese.com and you should be able to study. If you study on a public computer, don’t forget to log out!

You can enroll in as many courses as you like. After enrolling, you will be able to see the Learning tab on the top navigation bar. You can switch between your courses by clicking My Courses under Learning. All your enrolled courses will be listed there.
MyEChinese.com is encoded in Unicode (utf-8). When viewed with the correct encoding and a suitable font, you should be able to see Chinese characters and English text in non-blocky truetype fonts. Additionally, in our Community, if someone posts Japanese, simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or anything else, you should be able to see the correct characters (provided you have the relevant fonts installed).
You should be able to view this site using any Windows OS from Win95 upwards. Windows 2000 or later is better as the whole operating system uses Unicode by default, which may save you some headaches.
